Perserve in the battle

Joshua 14:11 (NIV) I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then.
How many of us today in the heat of our own personal battle can agree with the sentiment of Joshua. I was talking to a friend last night about something that I am believing and confessing for in faith from the Lord. She like myself was pondering what was taking so long? Now mind you I have been in a posture of waiting since mid June for this specific manifestation and maybe to some people that is not a long time ago and I am the first to admit that I have never been the most patient of saints but still…
In the Amplified it is written in Luke 21:19 By your steadfastness and patient endurance you shall win the true life of your souls. So I am yet holding on. For the true faith farmers we all have at one point or another looked up the heavens and asked, shouted, a few times maybe even cried out to When God When.  I am not here waiting to elevate from the Ritz to the Waldorf  I am like Joseph waiting to go from the pit to the palace. Everyday I have to stand still and hold my head close to the Lord to hear or see what He is doing or saying to in this hour. Some days it is harder than others because in the background I hear the murmuring and whispering of the naysayers in my life giving their opinions that God isn’t or won’t do like He said to me He would.
They with good intentions I am sure try and move me to natural solutions and human assistance. All of that is good and well. But this is a GOD thing.
I have to confess and repent that I myself have ranted and raved to God that this hurts and I would really like for this particular trial to just be over with already. I pleaded with the Lord that I feel I have learned everything I feel I need to learn. I get it. All of it. Now move and elevate me already.
Still..I am here. And still.. I trust Him. I love Him. I believe Him.
I am not saying what I think God wants to hear or even what would make me look like a mature woman of God to anyone else. I am telling you the truth. In some ways I have been here before and I trust God that He knows what He is doing in trusting Me. He choose me for this assignment and so like the old songs says I have to run on and see the end is going to bring. In 2 Samuel 22:31 It was King David who said “God’s way is perfect all the Lord’s promises prove true.
Some of you also are in the heat of the battle and maybe its been one day, one year or ten years there is no one that knows the heat of your fire like you do. Remember it was also written in 2 Samuel 22 that we are armed with strength for battle as well as being trained for battle. I have written it before but there is someone and you are not here by accident but you need to know that YOU ARE COMING OF THIS THING. Yeah we all know about hindering spirits but the truth is there are no stopping spirit. The things that are hindering you and your manifestation just want you to give up. In the Name of Jesus I decree and declare that YOU are stronger than what is against you. It is necessary that you put the word of God on whatever is coming against you.
It is written 1 John 5:5 (NLT) And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.
It is written 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NLT) But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.
It is written Isaiah 54:17 (NLT) But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken!
It is written 2 Corinthians 6:2 (NLT) For God says, “At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you.”
Indeed, the “right time” is now. Today is the day of salvation.
It is written Philippians 4:19 (NKJV) And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
I am here to tell you the truth there is no situation NOW OR EVER that can stand against the word of God.  We have to put the word of God on it.

Giants in the Land

In picking up from the teaching word from yesterday I want to speak on some spiritual giants of darkness trespassing in our lives. Remember according to Ephesians 6:12 (CEV) We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against the forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world. Also in Galatians 5:16 (NLT) So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.
People of God, hear me that when you make a decision to believe, serve and obey God then like in Genesis 6:4 you will  notice giants in the land. For me this morning it was a giant of intimidation. There are going to be some giants that unlike Goliath will not go down with one smooth stone to the head but nevertheless do not worry because they will go down.  There are several things in our lives that seek to try and bully us into staying in our lives without out permission: certain habits, problems, situation and the attitudes and behaviors of certain people.  Again I say we are not fighting with people but the access is through to us from the enemy comes through his influence in other people lives.  It is demonic forces and authorities and rulers of darkness that hide behind the familiar faces of family members, friends and others.  Believe me and take heed that some of us today may be in close proximity to someone that is demon posses or at the very least being influenced by the wickedness of the devil. Some of us to no avail have tried to get along and walk in love with family member, friends and people at work and even at church. Only to be met with resistance, oppression and downright meanness.
When Goliath present himself to the army of Israel he didn’t take for granted they would running for cover in regards to his girth and height. It was not enough for him to have them shaking in their boots by his massive armour and weapons. For what was lacked in the physical he made up in verbal intimidation. 1 Samuel 17:8-10 records him saying “Why are you all coming out to fight?” “I am the Philistine champion, but you are only the servants of Saul. Choose one man to come down here and fight with me! If he kills me, then we will be your slaves. But if I kill him, you will be our slaves! I defy the armies of Israel today! Send me a man who will fight me!”

Now we know how the story ends and although the thought may have crossed your mind please don’t go out trying to chop someone’s head off. But the truth is there are some people in your life that the enemy is influencing to bully and intimidate you. All through the bible  there is evidence of those who were consumed with with oppressing and controlling spirits.  Growing up I had a cousin and for some reason as children we decide that she would be the boss and even now as a 30 something adults she still tries and assert a position of bossiness with me and my other cousins. I know its seems funny but the truth is that there are some people in our lives that want to oppress and control us. I use to consider myself to be a very passive person so I think I made myself an easy mark. In a sea of sharks I was always the one they smelled blood from first. Growing up in the revelations of the Lord and the truth of His word I realized  my position in Christ. I decided that I wouldn’t be stepped on or stepped over. Not in a narcissist and egoistical way but in a way that showed to myself and to others I am the HEAD and not the tail. I am ABOVE and not beneath. Greater is He that in me that he that is in the world. The truth is that people only treat you the way you allow them. I remember hearing Pastor Paula White to say Go where you are celebrated and not where you are tolerated. The truth is for a lot  of us we need to learn to let the Lord celebrate us and follow his lead.
There are some of you that have allowed certain people to oppress you and control you for so long that is the only purpose you serve in their lives. The truth is that the people that put you down and treat you with such contempt have so little so self worth themselves. The devil has fooled them into only feeling GOOD about themselves based on how BAD they make you feel. I know men who only feel good when they cheat and dog their women out. I have seen women who feel better about how they look when they have gossiped about they bad they think you look. I go on and on about the cycle but the truth the Lord wants you to know today is this. 1 John 2:14 (NLT)  I have written to you who are God’s children because you know the Father. I have written to you who are mature in the faith because you know Christ, who existed from the beginning. I have written to you who are young in the faith because you are strong. God’s word lives in your hearts, and you have won your battle with the evil one. In Jesus Name Be Blessed, Manie

A word to wise

Ephesians 6:12 (KJV) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
2 Corinthians 10:3 (KJV) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
I was spending some time today studying in the word about: the flesh. I started to pray and ask the Holy Ghost to help me STOP struggling with people because we that it really doesn’t get us anywhere. Our problem in not necessarily knowing that we need to stop but knowing HOW to stop. The how to stop is when we come against the influence of the enemy in others with the name of Jesus and with the blood of Jesus. The how to stop is walking in love and forgiveness with other people. The truth of God’s word whether its easy or feels good or not is that we overcome evil with good. John 6:63 in part tells us that human effort accomplishes nothing. Yet I put a lot of trust in my own human abilities. My ability to out-smart, out-deceived, out-lie, out-manipulate and out-talk everyone. There seemed to be nothing I didn’t think I couldn’t get myself out of it. I am being really vulnerable and transparent here but its the truth. Today I myself was being deceivng, manipulated and lied too. Glory to God for His grace and mercy that was there when I didn’t even ask for it and thought I needed it. The truth is like Paul I echo the words of Ephesians 3:8 (NLT) Though I am the least deserving of all God’s people, he graciously gave me the privilege of telling the Gentiles about the endless treasures available to them in Christ. When I write these devotions (for lack of a better word) I am not writing them from some abstract place of hype and fluff. I have been there and done that. Today I can say I am glad to be in this place in my life where I am NO LONGER living a life of defeat, discouragement, worry and failure. I am thankful that I am not struggling with others and even with myself anymore. For all of us there should be no more self-defeating thoughts and attitudes. In the name of Jesus lift off of you the guilt and burden from self-condemnation about our past and even current struggles. Let it be settled deep in your spirit that you are GOOD enough right where you are today and still move forward into a life that is bigger and better.
Today I truth that apart from Christ I can do nothing.
According to Galatians 5:17 there is in all of us two forces which is our sinful nature and the Holy Spirit constantly fighting each other.  What I want to tell you is that victory is not about getting back at someone or showing to someone who has the most power and control in any given situation. Real power and control comes from knowing that if God be for us, who can be against us. Real power and control comes when we know that love never fails and we overcome evil with good.
We as believers must use our free will to be directed by the Holy Ghost. It is written that those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to His cross and crucified them them. Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. In Jesus Name Be Blessed, Manie

Your acceptance speech

This is not a post about politics there is enough of that on the internet as it stands. Yet the truth is after November 4th 2008 there will an acceptance speech by either candidate as they enter their duties as commander in chief for the United States of America. Right now there are some of the us that need to make an acceptance speech of our own. We too need to put one hand over our heart and raise the other to God and accept our position in Christ. Although being the president of the US comes with a lot of prestige that job for someone this November will also come with a lot of problems: a 5 yr long war, a failing economy among other things. It is the same for us who accept our identity as a believer in Christ Jesus. We are still subject to different trials and tribulations but like also we share in His sufferings that we may share in His glory.
You can add anything to your speech but key things to remember is that:
I accept today that
John 16:27 The Father Himself loves me because I love Christ and I have that Jesus came from God.
Romans 15:7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
Colossians 2:10 And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Luke 1:68 Praise be the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people.
Psalm 3:3 (CEV) Because you my shield, and you give me victory and great honor.
3 John 1:2 Dear friend, I hope all is well with you and that you are healthy in your body and strong in spirit.
Romans 4:7 Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
Ephesians 2:10 (AMP) For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].
Lord I decree and declare that I accept the suffering because yet I will also get the glory, I accept the many afflictions of the righteous because I know You will deliver me out of them all, I accept Your will and Your way for my life because I trust that you will NEVER leave me nor forsake. My times are in your hands.
Finally it is written 2 Corinthians 6:2 (AMP) For He says, In the time (of an assured welcome) I have listened to and heeded your call, and I have helped you on the day of deliverance (the day of salvation). Behold, now is truly the time for a gracious welcome and acceptance [of you from God]; behold now is the day of salvation!

Isa. 64:8 Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hard.
Jeremiah 18:6 O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?” declares the LORD. “Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.
We are all clay in the hand of our potter God, the Father. As in 2 Corinthians 3:18 it is His desire to make us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
Genesis 37 starts with the story of Joseph, the first son of Jacob & Rachel. The story of his life may be a familiar one to most believers. Yet it always encourages me to see in God’s word where one who people pushed so low God will elevate much much higher. That is good news for us today because we know that according to Acts 10: 34b (AMP) God shows no partiality and is no respecter of persons.
We all know that Joseph tells his brothers of his dreams and because of it he is despised and wanted dead. Later in what seemed like a change of heart these same brothers who put him in decided instead to sell him to some merchants. It would be good to get that from that we should all pray about us receiving help from the hand of man. It is said some deliverance is not divine and some help is not heavenly sent.  The merchants who bought Joseph later sold him to Potiphar, who was an officer of Pharaoh. In Potiphar’s house Joseph though still a slave was successful and prosperous ONLY because the Lord was with him. Potiphar was able to see the favor of the Lord on Joseph. There are times when people on your job, in your family, close friends will be able to see you go through the same situation as they are. But doing it with the favor of God on you. It is the goodness of Christ when we come out the fiery furnace not only with our bodies not burnt but also without even the hint of of smoke.
While in Potiphar’s house Joseph is elevated to being totally in charge and soon catches the eyes of the man of the house’s wife. Her advances are rebuked by Joseph and she in her outrage accuses him of rape. From there Joseph is thrown into jail. I like most people would have understood if Joseph at this point had cried out to in some kind of anger and frustration. How many times have you thought and said Lord, everytime I take one step forward I seemed to get pushed back 20.
Yet it is what I don’t read about Joseph that I love most. There is no whining, no murmuring or complaining. There is no long prayer of deliverance and rescue. There is no anger for his haters and no resentment  towards God.
As a result from the pit to the prison he is favored. While in prison and he interpretes a fellow inmates dream and though it takes two years the good deed lands him in front of  Pharaoh king of Egypt. The story screams about integrity. Though a slave he did a good job for Potiphar. He refused the advances of his wife and went took punishment for something he didn’t do. Even in front of Pharaoh he lets him know that he will not just give him a good interpretation but only the answer God gives.
Our turn on the pottery wheel leaves us dizzy with trouble, wet from tears, with more and more pressure at every spin.
All the time this is going on you have no clue the beautiful piece of pottery you are yet to become but it is happening. Even as you read this it is happening. Joseph then like most of us now understood  bitterness of a prolonged dream. He was familiar with betrayal and hurt. He has felt our feelings now of  isolation and being misunderstood.  He knew the terror of being forgotten. Yet he held on to his dream and the ONE who would bring them to pass.
I on the other hand have had more than one occasion of crying out anytime now God.
Even our Savior from the cross in a moment of vulnerability cried out about the ninth hour My God, my God, why have you forsaken me. We can rejoice though because we know that like Joseph did and like Jesus does HE can not and will not forget or forsake us. Be still under the potters loving touch and rest in the words of King Solomon that there is a time for every matter or purpose under heaven.  Decree that is your life the best is ahead and the worst is over. When you decree it then it will be established. Let it known to everything that tried to take you down and count you out that the pressure was just to position you. In Jesus Name, Be Blessed Manie

Get it done

Philippians 4:13 (NLT) For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. That passage is one of the most famous and most often quoted scriptures in the bible. I have mediated and spoke that word over myself in the face of every trial and tribulation I have ever faced in life. Right now I find myself chewing over that scripture in the face of a familiar but yet unconquered battle.
A lot of times with the problems in life its not that we don’t have what it takes to win but the enemy bombards us with lies that we can’t get it done.  I have come to the real conclusion that satan’s only influence over us is by mere suggestion. In Matthew 4:1-11 the enemy never really did anything to Jesus other than to suggest to Christ what to do. The enemy has no power to push he is just trying to persuade. A lot of us go around rebuking the enemy here and rebuking the enemy there. Yet it is written in James 4:7 So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. We resist his lies and deception with the truth of God’s word. There is someone today facing the challenge of your life and it seems so scary and daunting because maybe its you for the millionth time attempting to lose weight or its your first stab at writing a book . Maybe you are giving up the darkness of an old relationship or in the light of a brand new one. No matter it is the truth is that you can do it. I know the enemy wants you to think its going to be too hard or too painful and that you can never accomplish it.  But know today the devil is a liar. Whatever it is you are facing let YOU hear yourself say that it can be done. Say it to yourself. Over and over again. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. Decree that you can do _________ through Christ, who gives you strength. Know that today is a new day. If you have fallen before with whatever you are attempting to do just get back up again. It is written in Romans 8:37b Overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. You can do it!  You were created in the image and likeness of God and the bible says in Exodus 15:3a The Lord is a warrior.

Seeing is not Believing

Genesis 2:15 (AMP) And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

Genesis 3:6 (AMP) And when the woman saw that the tree was good (suitable, pleasant) for good and that it was delightful to look at, and a tree to be desired in order to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she gave some also to her husband, and he ate.
Daniel 3:22-26 (AMP) Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame and sparks from the fire killed those men who handled Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the burning fiery furnace. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king [saw and] was astounded, and he jumped up and said to his counselors, Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered, True, O king. He answered, Behold, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt! Ans the form of the fourth is like a son of the gods! Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most high God, come out and come here. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out from the midst of the fire.
God is above what you see in the natural.  He is supernatural. His ways and His deeds can’t be always be comprehended or understood with the natural senses. Sometimes He will give a word and everything we perceive with our senses is CONTRARY to that word. Believe God anyway. God didn’t lie or change his mind and His truth is the ONLY truth. I am a person of radical faith. I believe the impossible and wait for the unexpected. You are to deep to come out with anything less than what God has promised you. Stop focusing on what it looks like and focus on what God has said about it.
