True Living…..

1 Peter 1:23 (NLT) For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God.
Leave it up to this world to confuse us about what true living and real life looks like for us. We come to Christ empty, drained and tired after running as hard as we can after everything the world promises will make us happy, fulfilled and satisfied. We chase after the riches, excitement ,and pleasures yet even when we get a taste of  THAT it still isn’t enough. Today in my own life I am learning about the balance of what true living looks like for me as a believer.
I am learning its peace and not pleasure that is really satisfying to my soul and spirit.
It reads in 2 Peter 1:3 (NLT ) By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
I have said it before but it so POWERFUL that it bears repeating again in this Holy Week: True living comes when you believe and confess Jesus Christ to be Lord of your life. . You can’t know what LIFE is without the one who is LIFE. John 11:25 (NLT) Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.
Before you come to really know Him then you are always searching and seeking for something or someone to make you happy and give you a sense of wholeness.
The more I walk with Christ the more whole and fulfilled I am in HIM with my life. I have stopped being that empty, needy person who is always asking for validation and confirmation. True living is also having enough in US that we can give to another out of the abundance that God pours into us.
On this Good Friday where we observe the suffering and death that Jesus suffered in our place. Let us not waste this precious gift by wasting our time in this world living as if we were dead. True living is living life abundantly. And that means true living is staying connected to our Source: Jesus Christ.

I pray we all were blessed as we celebrated Passover yesterday and left our place Egypt.  I pray that as we applied the blood of Jesus over our bodies, minds, wills, emotions, finances, property, family and friends and told the enemy he has NO entry into these things that are covered by the blood.
In this Holy Week the Lord is revealing a few things to me about 2008 the year of New Beginnings. The LORD wanted me to tell His people that He is aware of how last year played out in our lives. It was a complete construction zone. There was so much demolition, demolishing and dismantling. Many of us have never had to let go of so much and so many at one time.  We looked back and thought what happened to new & exciting beginning that every pastor in the world was speaking would take place in our lives.

What started as a time of New Beginnings ended with reports of recession and lack.  We have to be still and know that the LORD was just gutting out what needed to be removed in order to start construction on the new thing.

Remember what started out as a total blood bath in the form of the crucifiction ENDED in victory and triumph for our LORD JESUS CHRIST  and all us believers.
What looked like LOSS in the world is actually GAIN for the kingdom.
Jesus assures us in Mark 10:29 that everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or property, for my sake and the Good News, will receive now in return a hundred time as many houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and property-along with persecution.
So maybe last year didn’t look like you thought it was going to look in your life. God wants you to know today YOUR NEW BEGINNING is still coming to pass. Stand still in your faith and know that it is done.

We must be careful in this season to BE excited as the new THING springs up. Because as God said it has already begun.

Cultivated Confidence

There is a confidence there comes from getting in and believing the word of God. It causes to be confident in who we are in HIM. It causes to become spiritually bold and authoritative. When we continue in the word of God and in relationship with Christ then our confidence get cultivated that it might become concrete.

So that when storms, trials, troubles and opposition comes you are not easily moved from your strength, power and might in God. You know how to bounce right up if you fall. You know that even after a night of crying that joy WILL come in the morning.

The enemy will use everything about your past and even some of your present to make you hold on to the lies he has spewed about who you really aren’t. He wants us to believe that we are not good enough because of where we came, how we look, and our past sins and mistakes. Yet the truth is that what God has said about us can’t be revoked or recanted.

You are today, tomorrow and forever EVERYTHING that God has called and said about you.
You are a blessed, favored, loved, forgiven, and redeemed child of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You are a Holy-Ghost filled joint-heir with Jesus Christ.

It is time to disown the confidence we use to have in the world’s system. One day you are hot and the next day you are not. One day you are in and two months later you are out.
This is a system of broken promises and forgotten vows. Sadly we see people go into marriages already thinking about the option of divorce. Jobs hire you on a probation status and won’t give you benefits until you have proven yourselves for 90 days. We are living in a time when your word is NOT your bond and truth is subject to personal interpretation.

Never before has it been such a time as NOW that we need to know the confidence that we have in Christ and His words and truth to, for and about us.
I want to personally testify to the power and freedom of believing what God says about YOU. I want to tell you of the pure bliss I have in waking up and choosing to be happy right now with my life. I am sure NOTHING causes more chaos in hell than when we celebrate God and ourselves in face of the LESS than celebratory circumstances in our lives.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

I learned a long time ago to STOP picking myself apart based on the criticism of the enemy through other people in the world. I stop yielding my own mouth and mind in repeating the enemy’s accusations about me to me. I learn to love ME right now and not when I weigh a few pounds less, my hair is perfect and my skin is clearer. I have decided to have joy because I know the money is coming even though I haven’t seen it yet. I am determined to have peace even though the storm is STILL raging.

It may still look bad but give the enemy a stroke and throw yourself your own daily praise party because you know where you are is not where you are going to stay.

1 Samuel 16:7 (NLT) But the LORD said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The LORD doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

I have been dealing with a LOT lately. Some things haven’t been going the way that I thought they would be going for me. But how many of us know His thoughts are not like our thoughts. And His ways are far beyond anything we could imagine. In fact, we should be COMFORTED in knowing that His ways and His thoughts are HIGHER than ours.
I want to take you back to this basic message and know that if today you are worried, anxious or fearful about the circumstances concerning your life then it is because you have TAKEN God out of the drivers seat and put yourself back in it.
Let me remind you that HE is your way out of  no way. Let me tell you again HE is your possibility in an impossible situation. Remind your soul that NOTHING is too hard for our God. You are in His hand and under His care.

Feed your faith and calm your soul with the following passages of scriptures. Don’t just read over them once but in this HOlY week chew and meditate them to know that JESUS CHRIST IS RISEN and ALIVE today and still making intercession for us. Rejoice in the truth that as He sits at the right hand of the Father here with us and in us is  the Holy Spirit.

2 Chronicles 20:15b This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Psalm 91:4 He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Psalm 37:5 Commit everything you do the the LORD. Trust him, and he will help you.

Isaiah 41:10 Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

I want to add a final word of encouragement and tell you NOT to let your feeling push you around and bully you. You must know, speak and believe that YOU are strong in the LORD and His mighty power. You don’t have to out fight the enemy just out truth him. Please don’t panic and feel pressured- God is with you.

Everything you hear and read in the news right now is a negative report. Everywhere you look it is bad news whether it concerns the job and housing market, the war, the economy, or crime in our world.

You get to a point where it takes work just to keep your head above water. The fact is many us are not as focused on getting ahead as we are just staying in the game.

I guarantee you based on the faithfulness and integrity of God’s word that you are not going to stay where you right now. You are coming out and into the fullness of what God has promised you. If you don’t know what is promised to you then you must get in His word and see what He has to say to you.

The truth is as a child of God and a believer of Jesus Christ you are not stuck to your own shortcomings or the world’s devices. I know that all around you people are preaching and teaching hope and faith like they are gold and silver but the truth is that it is because they are for us.

Too many of us are dependent on other people to pray with us and believe for us and as things gets worse we have to learn how to get it for ourselves.  We have to learn how to get in the word of God and receive revelation from the Holy Spirit for ourselves.  Also we must accept the responsibility of being a doer of the word.

Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, our redemption and justification is complete.  Through our faith in him, we are able to possess success, victory and prosperity.  In this article, I am not trying to hype you up but report the good news that is to be your anchor for the rest of your life.

The good news about Jesus Christ is not just about salvation and eternal life but the word also says that He came for us to have abundant life while we are here on earth.

Again I want to say to you that you are not stuck in a rut, down and out, or even broke, busted or disgusted. It doesn’t matter how hard or how often you have to go at it but you must learn to believe, speak, and expect God’s glory and goodness to be manifested in your life. Be Blessed, Manie

Your faith life

From the pain of experience I can tell you that unbelief is the worst kind of sin. It moves you out from the presence of the LORD quicker and harsher than anything other kind of sin. It says in Hebrews 11:6 (NLT) And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

So if our faith pleases him then obviously we know our doubt displeases him.  Unbelief causes fear and fear and faith can’t reside together. Today I think about the first line of Romans 4:18 (NLT) it reads Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping-believing that he would become the father of many nations.

Can you imagine not having a reason for hope? We all have been to that point of having everything on the line and needing for God to come through for us in a major way. Then you barely come out of the situation by the skin of your teeth. Barely making it out is definitely not the BIG finish you had in mind from the Lord. You sit there numb, confused and not knowing what to do.

The word for you today is that against all hope you must hope anyway. Right now it may seem like everything and even wants to tell you that God has forgotten about you but STILL keep your hope in HIM anyway. God has not forgotten about you. God can never forsake you.  Job 13:15 (AMP) [I do it because, though He slay me, yet will I trust Him and] behold, He will slay me, I have no hope—nevertheless, I will maintain and argue my ways before Him and even to His face.

Remember the word of God in Joshua 21:45 that not one word of His promises to the children of Israel failed. God trust you with this warfare. He knows that He has placed in you what it takes to get to the other side.

This faith walk is deeper than getting houses, cars and other things. This faith thing is the CORE of our relationship with God. Everything between Him and us is based on faith. We believe He is who He says He is when we can’t see Him, touch Him or feel Him. We believe everything He says to us before we see it.  Let me tell you the devil is not just trying to keep you from just getting a house, or some money. He attacks those things to ultimately try and steal your faith. He knows that if he can anyway destroy your faith in God then he can kill you. I know we like to focus on the end of John 10:10 which is the MOST powerful part of that scripture but still the first part warns us that enemy does want to steal, kill and destroy us. The devil doesn’t care about your marriage. The enemy doesn’t need your job or your money. He just wants to steal, kill and destroy your faith because when you have no faith then you have no life. It reads in Hab. 2:4 The righteous will live by their faithfulness to God.

The word of the LORD for you to today is know that your life is ROOTED in your faith. Colossians 2:6-7 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Bully Tactics..

2 Chronicles 20:15b Thus says the Lord to you: Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God. Verse 17 says You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you.
2 Corinthians 4:4a calls satan, the god of this world…
Matthew 10:28 (NLT) “Don’t be afraid of those who want to kill your body; they cannot touch your soul. Fear only God, who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

If you know anything about bullies it is that they pick on people they feel may be weaker than themselves. You know the all too familiar scenario of the popular bulky high school football player who picks on the skinny weak intellectual guy. Or the pretty cheerleader girls who always isolate and target the loner overweight girl. The menacing supervisor at the job he knows you desperately need to have. Or any person in a position of authority over you who uses that position to hinder or hurt and not help you.

For the victims in these very real situations they never see the cowardice of their opponents who intentionally pick out a weaker target. Instead they see  them as powerful and intimidating. Yet the truth is that they are being used by the enemy to hurt others and being allowed the very brief chance to feel good about themselves.

Even in scripture we see a very powerful King Herod try and kill a newly born baby Jesus.

I can personally say that I have dealt with enough bullies to now know it was just the enemy trying to create the stronghold of weakness and inferiority in my life. My issue was never with flesh and blood. And that is the same truth for all of us today. You have to realize that you are a million times more powerful and stronger than you ever thought possible. It would do you some good to look back over your life and see all the trials and tribulations that you came through with the LORD. All of the things the enemy sent your way to steal, kill and destroy you has only made you MORE of a force to be reckoned with against hell. Just like with all bullies the devil knows he is defeated.  You are a warrior for the kingdom of God.

You need to know with all your heart, soul and spirit there is NO other name that is more exalted than the name of Jesus. It is at His name that every other name must bow. It reads this in Philippians 2:10 (NLT) for everything in heaven, on earth and under the earth His name is supreme. When you come against ANYTHING in the name of Jesus you can’t be conquered. When you use His name you can’t be overwhelmed. When you speak out His name you won’t be defeated.
Acts 3:16 (NLT) “Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed-and you know who crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.
Mark 28:18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth.
